There is nothing that we can do about the excessive use of pesticides by farmers, so we should learn how to properly clean the produce of chemical residues before we consume the fruit and vegetables. Namely, there are several efficient methods to do this completely naturally using some common ingredients from your pantry.

Baking Soda

This is great method for cleaning of the fruits and vegetables of pesticide residues on natural and efficient way. You need to fill a big bowl with 5 glasses of water. After that add 4 tablespoons of baking soda and stir until well dissolved. Soak your product in this solution, and leave it about 15 minutes to act. Then remove the produce and wipe it dry.

Turmeric Water

This water has extremely powerful antiseptic properties, so it can be used to effectively remove germs and pesticides from foods. Prepare a mixture by adding 5 teaspoons of turmeric powder in a bowl of boiling water. After it cools, add in the vegetables and fruits leaving them for a while. Rinse them afterwards into a bowl of clean water. After this the fruits and vegetables are safe for consumption!

Vinegar Soak

Vinegar is powerful antimicrobial and it is one of the most efficient ingredients to remove germs and pesticides from your produce. It is recommended to dilute 10% white vinegar with 90% water, and soak your fruits and vegetables in it. Leave it act for a while, but don’t forget to stir the produce around occasionally. Rinse thoroughly.
