Blend Turmeric + Ginger with Coconut Milk. Drink Before Bed to Flush Liver Toxins While You Sleep

Do you know what golden milk is? It’s a mixture of herbs and coconut milk, warmed enough to form a tasty and nutritious beverage that can be consume during the day. It’s a valuable part of Ayurveda medicine where it’s called Haidi ka doodh, and its roots are deep in the Indian cuisine. The mixture is used for detox and against inflammation, high blood sugar and other health problems.

Golden milk consists of coconut oil, turmeric, ginger, black pepper and coconut milk. Honey is often added to enrich the taste, but the effects of the mixture are mostly dependent on the health benefits of turmeric. Turmeric is a beneficial spice which has been used against liver disease, muscle pain, arthritis, respiratory problems, gastrointestinal problems and skin issues for centuries. The spice is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent which is especially effective against autoimmune and chronic diseases.

Turmeric cleanses the liver and eliminates free radicals, regulates your blood sugar levels, relieves colds and improves digestion, while preventing degenerative cognitive diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Ginger can relieve nausea, colds, muscle and menstrual pain besides improving digestion and regulating your blood sugar levels.

Black pepper is helpful against anemia, indigestion and colds, while it also boosts the absorption of turmeric.

Coconut oil boosts your immune system, improves digestion, prevents kidney and liver disease, promotes better heart health, aids weight loss and improves your skin, while coconut milk is rich in essential nutrients that improve your overall health.

Honey is an antimicrobial agent that can relieve allergies and colds besides helping you get rid of sleep deprivation.

The health benefits of the ingredients are more than enough reason for you to try the turmeric milk – here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 2 cups of coconut milk
  • A small piece of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • Half a teaspoon of cinnamon (for aroma)

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients in a blender, then heat them in a pan for 5 minutes (don’t let the mixture boil!). You can replace coconut milk with other type of milk, but avoid dairy as it can result in intolerances and cause symptoms such as acne, eczema, IBS, dairy allergies and breathing problems.

Drink a glass of golden milk in the morning on an empty stomach or in the evening before going to bed and you will detox your body and prevent different diseases!

How to Optimize Turmeric Absorption for Super-Boosted Benefits

When we talk about eating foods for their specific health benefits, many people think simply eating the food is enough. For instance, if you struggle with inflammatory bowel disease and have read that turmeric is effective in healing many digestive issues, you may simply get a turmeric (curcumin) supplement to start taking. But you would be overlooking one crucial fact about turmeric that could mean the difference between simple consumption and full-absorption. That fact: turmeric is fat-soluble, and you want to be able to absorb is magnificent food to experience all of the health benefits it has to offer.

When something is fat-soluble, that means it dissolves in fat. Without fat, the active component in turmeric, curcumin, has a difficult time making it past the stomach, into the small intestine, and into the blood where it can offer the greatest benefits.

In order to make the most of turmeric, you must take it with a bit of fat.

With curry (where turmeric is most popular), your body is able to make the most of the curcumin because there is usually some oil in the recipe. We can learn from this by trying to take turmeric as part of a healing synergistic whole—one healing piece of an overall healthful meal.

But even when curry isn’t on the menu or when you simply want a “hit” of curcumin, you can use it’s fat-soluble qualities to ensure your body makes the most of it.
Golden Milk Tea, sometimes referred to as only golden milk, is an ancient way of experiencing the benefits of turmeric with helpful fat included. While there are many recipes for golden milk, they usually involve dissolving a paste of turmeric and water into a small cup of milk and coconut oil. Remember to use high-quality organic turmeric in the milk preparation. Also,as NaturalNews reports, you can prepare the paste in advance and keep it in your refrigerator for weeks.

Other ways to get the most out of your turmeric:

  • Sprinkle some on an avocado
  • Dissolve it in a tablespoon of coconut oil before adding it to a smoothie
  • Stir it into olive oil and then toss in fresh vegetables
  • Consume turmeric or curcumin with black pepper. ”Adding black pepper to turmeric or turmeric-spiced food enhances curcumin’s bioavailability by 1,000 times, due to black pepper’s hot property called piperine,” says nutritionist Stacy Kennedy.

A little fat plus a little turmeric equals a whole host of health benefits. From reducing blood pressure and inflammation to preventing Alzheimer’s and treating depression—making the most of this beautiful root could have immeasurable positive effects on your health.
